Paul is put on a ship for Rome, and Luke sails with him. Against Paul’s warning, they set out late in the season and are caught in a violent storm for many days, until all hope is lost. But an angel assures Paul that all aboard will be spared, and he encourages the frightened crew and passengers to take heart and eat. The ship runs aground and breaks apart, yet, just as Paul said, all 276 aboard reach land safely on the island of Malta.
