Luke study chapter

Luke 9

c. AD 29The Twelve are sent out, the five thousand are fed, Peter confesses Christ, and the transfiguration occurs, as Jesus turns toward Jerusalem.

Jesus sends out the Twelve to preach and heal, feeds five thousand from five loaves and two fish, and at Peter’s confession that He is “the Christ of God” foretells His suffering and calls disciples to take up their cross daily. On the mountain He is transfigured in glory with Moses and Elijah, and the Father says, “This is my Son... listen to him.” Then, as “the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem,” teaching the costliness of following Him.
