Jeremiah 15

c. 605 BCJeremiah’s anguish, and the LORD’s promise to make him a fortified wall of bronze.

God declares that not even Moses and Samuel could turn Him from judgment now. In deep distress Jeremiah laments his birth and the loneliness of his calling, feeling that God has become to him “like a deceitful brook”; the LORD calls him to repent of his despair and renews the promise to make him “a fortified wall of bronze” whom the people cannot overcome.
