As another sign, Jeremiah is forbidden to marry or have children, or to attend funerals or feasts, because the coming judgment will leave the land full of unburied dead and empty of joy. Yet even here shines a promise: a day is coming when God will bring His people back from the north, and the nations will come to know that the LORD is God.
