Jeremiah is told to bury a linen loincloth by the Euphrates and later retrieve it ruined, a sign of how Judah’s pride will be spoiled. The LORD warns the king and queen mother to humble themselves before darkness falls, asking whether the leopard can change its spots — nor can a people accustomed to evil do good.
