Isaiah study chapter

Isaiah 42

ServantThe gentle, just Servant of the LORD, a light to the nations.

The first Servant Song presents the LORD’s chosen Servant, upheld and Spirit-anointed, who will “bring forth justice to the nations” — yet gently, for “a bruised reed he will not break.” He is given as a covenant and “a light for the nations,” to open blind eyes and free prisoners, and the LORD calls all the earth to sing a new song for the salvation He brings.
