Ezekiel 16

In a long and searing allegory, Jerusalem is pictured as an abandoned newborn whom God found, cleansed, adorned, and made His beautiful bride — only for her to play the harlot with every passing nation and even sacrifice her children to idols. God announces judgment for her shameless unfaithfulness, yet ends astonishingly with a promise to remember His covenant and establish “an everlasting covenant,” atoning for all she has done.
