Ezekiel 14

592 BCIdolatrous elders rebuked; even Noah, Daniel, and Job could save only themselves.

When idolatrous elders come to inquire of the LORD, God exposes the idols they have set up in their hearts and calls them to repent. He declares that a land so faithless is doomed, and that even if the three most righteous men — Noah, Daniel, and Job — were in it, they could deliver only their own souls by their righteousness, not the guilty nation.
