Ezekiel 13

592 BCWoe to the false prophets and prophetesses who whitewash walls with lies.

Woe is pronounced on the false prophets who “have seen false visions and lying divinations,” who cry “Peace” when there is no peace and whitewash a flimsy wall that God’s storm will tear down. Judgment also falls on the women who prophesy lies and ensnare souls with magic, hunting God’s people like birds.
