As a fellow worker with God, Paul pleads with them not to receive God’s grace in vain, “now” being the day of salvation. He commends his ministry by “great endurance” through afflictions, hardships, beatings, and imprisonments, and by purity, patience, and the power of God, as “sorrowful, yet always rejoicing... having nothing, yet possessing everything.” He then appeals to the Corinthians to open their hearts and warns them, “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers,” for believers are the temple of the living God, called to holiness.
