2 Corinthians 4

Because of this ministry Paul does not lose heart, but renounces underhanded ways and openly proclaims “Jesus Christ as Lord,” for “God, who said, ’Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” This treasure is carried “in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.” Afflicted but not crushed, always carrying the death of Jesus so His life may be shown, Paul looks not to the seen and transient but to the unseen and eternal, for “this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory.”
