2 Corinthians 3

Needing no letters of recommendation, Paul says the Corinthians themselves are his letter, “written on human hearts” by the Spirit. He contrasts the old and new covenants: the ministry of the letter that kills versus the ministry of the Spirit that gives life. Though the old covenant came with glory — Moses’ shining face — that glory was fading, and it is far surpassed by the permanent glory of the new. Where the Spirit is, there is freedom, and beholding the Lord’s glory, believers “are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.”
