1 Corinthians 9

Paul illustrates from his own life how he surrenders his rights for the sake of others and the gospel. Though as an apostle he has every right to be supported, he refuses payment in Corinth so as not to hinder the gospel. He has become “all things to all people, that by all means I might save some,” and he disciplines himself like an athlete training for an imperishable prize, “so that after preaching to others I myself should not be disqualified.”
