The beloved again delights in the beauty of his bride in an ardent song of praise, and the bride responds with glad, wholehearted self-giving: “I am my beloved’s, and his desire is for me.” She invites him to go with her into the vineyards and fields, offering her love freely, a picture of the mutual, uninhibited delight of covenant marriage.
