Song of Solomon 5

After the union, the bride tells of a night when, half-asleep, she was slow to open to her beloved, and when she rose he had gone; she searched for him, longing and even wounded by the watchmen. Asked by the daughters of Jerusalem what makes her beloved so special, she answers with a glowing head-to-foot praise of him — “he is altogether desirable. This is my beloved.”
