Paul warns that God’s righteous judgment is impartial, falling on all who do evil, whether Jew or Greek. Those who judge others while doing the same things condemn themselves, and God’s kindness is meant to lead to repentance. Having the law is no advantage without keeping it, and the Gentiles who do by nature what the law requires show it written on their hearts. True Jewishness is a matter of the heart, “by the Spirit,” not merely outward circumcision.
