Revelation 2

Christ dictates letters to four churches, each following a pattern of commendation, correction, warning, and promise to “the one who conquers.” Ephesus is praised for endurance and doctrinal vigilance but rebuked for abandoning “the love you had at first.” Smyrna, suffering and poor, is told to “be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.” Pergamum, dwelling “where Satan’s throne is,” holds fast His name but tolerates false teaching. Thyatira grows in love and faith but tolerates “Jezebel,” who leads others into immorality and idolatry.
