Proverbs study chapter

Proverbs 23

self-control and true richesWarnings against gluttony, greed, and drunkenness, and a call to seek wisdom above wealth.

The words of the wise continue with warnings against fixing one’s eyes on wealth “that makes itself wings and flies away,” against gluttony and greed, and against the ruin of drunkenness, vividly portrayed. Interwoven are calls to “buy truth, and do not sell it,” to discipline children in love, and for a father’s heart to rejoice when his son is wise.
