The father describes the rich reward of seeking wisdom as one searches for hidden treasure: the LORD gives wisdom, and it guards the seeker. Wisdom delivers from the way of evil men who delight in perverseness and from the “forbidden woman” whose path leads down to death, so that the upright will dwell in the land.
