Matthew study chapter

Matthew 6

c. AD 28Jesus teaches on giving, prayer (the Lord’s Prayer), fasting, and seeking first the kingdom rather than worldly anxiety.

Jesus warns against practicing righteousness to be seen by others, teaching that giving, prayer, and fasting are to be done for God, not for show. He gives the model prayer, the Lord’s Prayer, and calls His disciples to forgive as they are forgiven. He urges them to lay up treasure in heaven rather than on earth, for “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also,” and to trust their heavenly Father rather than be anxious, seeking first “the kingdom of God and his righteousness.”
