Matthew 22

In the parable of the wedding feast, Jesus warns that those first invited who refuse will be replaced by others, and that the improperly clothed will be cast out. His opponents try to trap Him: on paying taxes to Caesar He answers, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s”; on the resurrection He silences the Sadducees; and He names the greatest commandments as loving God and loving one’s neighbor. Then He stumps them with the question of how the Christ can be both David’s son and David’s Lord.
