Matthew study chapter

Matthew 11

c. AD 28Jesus commends John the Baptist, rebukes unrepentant towns, and invites the weary to come to Him for rest.

John the Baptist, in prison, sends to ask whether Jesus is the Coming One, and Jesus points to His works of healing and preaching good news to the poor as the answer. He commends John as the greatest of the prophets and rebukes the unrepentant towns that saw His mighty works yet would not turn. Then He rejoices that the Father reveals these things to little children, and issues the tender invitation: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
