Luke 18

The parable of the persistent widow urges the disciples “always to pray and not lose heart,” and the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector shows that the one who humbly cries, “God, be merciful to me, a sinner,” goes home justified. Jesus welcomes little children as models of the kingdom, and calls a rich ruler to sell all and follow Him. He foretells His death a third time, and heals a blind beggar near Jericho who calls Him “Son of David.”
