Leviticus study section

Leviticus key people

Leviticus is mostly the voice of the LORD from the tent of meeting; its few named figures are the mediator, the priests, and the two who profane the holy.

Those who draw near: the LORD, the mediator, and the priests

The LORD

Speaks nearly the whole book from the tent of meeting, giving the pattern for worship and holiness

Moses

Aaron

Israel’s first high priest, ordained and consecrated to serve in the sanctuary

Eleazar and Ithamar

Aaron’s surviving sons, who continue the priestly line

Those who profaned the holy

Nadab and Abihu

Aaron’s elder sons, who offer unauthorized fire and are struck dead

The blasphemer

The son of Shelomith of the tribe of Dan, stoned for cursing the Name (24:10-23)
