Israel assembles and demands the men of Gibeah, but Benjamin defends them, and civil war erupts. After two costly defeats and fasting before the LORD, Israel destroys the army of Benjamin and puts its cities to the sword, leaving only six hundred men alive. The tribe of Benjamin is all but wiped out by its brothers.
