Job study chapter

Job 38

patriarchal eraThe LORD answers from the whirlwind, questioning Job about the foundations of creation.

Out of the whirlwind the LORD finally answers Job — not with an explanation, but with an avalanche of questions. Where was Job when God laid the foundations of the earth, shut in the sea, commanded the morning, or walked in the recesses of the deep? Who provides for the snow, the rain, the constellations, the lightning? God overwhelms Job with the vastness and intricacy of a creation Job neither made nor comprehends, setting his small complaint against the immensity of divine wisdom.
