The LORD comforts those who pursue righteousness, calling them to look to Abraham and to trust that “my salvation will be forever.” He urges Jerusalem to awake, promising to remove the cup of His wrath from her hand and to comfort her, for He is the LORD who stirs the sea and stretches out the heavens, and His people need not fear mortal man.
