Isaiah study chapter

Isaiah 48

comfortGod foretold things beforehand and, for His own name’s sake, leads His refined people out.

The LORD reminds stubborn Israel that He announced things beforehand so they could not credit their idols, and that for His own name’s sake He refines and does not cut them off. He longs that they had heeded His commandments, for then their peace would have been like a river, and He calls them to “go out from Babylon... the LORD has redeemed his servant Jacob.”
