Isaiah 47

comfortThe humiliation of proud Babylon, who said, “I am, and there is no one besides me.”

A taunt-song announces the downfall of proud Babylon, the pampered queen who said in her heart, “I am, and there is no one besides me,” and thought herself secure forever. Her sorceries and astrologers cannot save her; disaster will fall suddenly, exposing the emptiness of all she trusted.
