Hosea announces that Israel’s days of feasting are ending; they will not remain in the LORD’s land but will return to “Egypt” and eat unclean food in Assyria. Because of their deep corruption — “the days of punishment have come” — their glory will fly away, and God will reject them for their rebellion.
