Hebrews 6

He urges them to press on to maturity, and gives one of the letter’s severe warnings: those who have shared in the blessings of the gospel and then fall away cannot be restored, for they “are crucifying once again the Son of God.” Yet he is confident of “better things” concerning his readers, whose love and service God will not forget, and urges them to imitate “those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” God confirmed His promise to Abraham with an oath, so that “by two unchangeable things” — His promise and His oath — believers have “strong encouragement” and “a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul,” a hope that enters “into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf.”
