Galatians 3

Paul rebukes the “foolish Galatians”: did they receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? He points to Abraham, who “believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness,” and declares that all who rely on works are under a curse, “for the righteous shall live by faith.” But “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us,” so that the blessing of Abraham and the promised Spirit might come to the Gentiles through faith. The law, added later, could not annul the promise; it served as a “guardian until Christ came,” but now, through faith, “there is neither Jew nor Greek... for you are all one in Christ Jesus,” Abraham’s offspring and heirs.
