The oracles against the nations begin with Judah’s near neighbors: Ammon, for gloating over the fall of the sanctuary; Moab, for saying Judah is like all other nations; Edom, for taking vengeance; and Philistia, for acting with malice. Each will feel God’s hand, and “they will know that I am the LORD.”
