In a vivid oracle, the “sword of the LORD” is drawn, sharpened, and polished for slaughter against Jerusalem and its prince, and Ezekiel is told to groan and cry out. The king of Babylon stands at a crossroads, casting lots by divination, and God directs the sword to Jerusalem, whose profane and wicked prince will be removed until “he comes to whom judgment belongs.”
