2 Samuel study chapter

2 Samuel 19

c. 980 BCDavid is restored to Jerusalem amid tensions between Judah and the northern tribes.

Joab rebukes David for mourning a rebel while shaming the men who saved him, and David rouses himself to be king. Amid rivalry between Judah and the northern tribes, David returns to Jerusalem, pardoning Shimei, restoring Mephibosheth’s honor, and rewarding the loyal Barzillai, though the reconciliation is fragile and old jealousies remain.
