2 Corinthians study chapter

2 Corinthians 13

c. AD 56Paul warns of his coming visit, calls the church to examine itself, and closes with a Trinitarian benediction.

Paul warns that on his third visit he will not spare the unrepentant, for Christ is powerful among them. He calls the church to “examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith,” and to test whether Christ is in them. He prays for their restoration and maturity, writing beforehand so that his visit may be for building up rather than tearing down. He closes with final greetings and the beloved Trinitarian benediction: “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”
