Solomon begins building the temple on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to David at Ornan’s threshing floor. The chapter describes the structure, the gold overlay of the Most Holy Place, the two great cherubim overshadowing the ark’s place, the veil, and the two bronze pillars, Jachin and Boaz, at the entrance.
