2 Chronicles 28

Ahaz is a thoroughly wicked king who makes idols, worships the Baals, and even sacrifices his sons in the fire. God hands him over to Aram and Israel, who inflict great slaughter, though the northern captives are mercifully returned at a prophet’s word. In his distress Ahaz sacrifices to the gods of Damascus, “which had struck him down,” and shuts up the doors of the temple, sinking Judah to a new low.
