1 Samuel study chapter

1 Samuel 30

c. 1011 BCDavid recovers everyone and everything the Amalekites raided from Ziklag and shares the spoil fairly.

Returning to Ziklag, David finds it burned and all the women and children carried off by the Amalekites, and his grieving men speak of stoning him. But David “strengthened himself in the LORD his God,” inquires of God, and pursues; guided by an abandoned Egyptian slave, he overtakes the raiders and recovers everyone and everything. He rules that those who guarded the baggage share equally with those who fought, and sends gifts to the elders of Judah.
