1 Kings study chapter

1 Kings 8

c. 959 BCSolomon dedicates the temple; the glory of the LORD fills it, and he prays and blesses the people.

Solomon assembles Israel to bring up the ark into the Most Holy Place, and the glory of the LORD fills the house as a cloud, so that the priests cannot stand to minister. Solomon blesses the people and prays a magnificent dedication prayer, asking that God hear from heaven whenever His people, or even a foreigner, turn and pray toward this house — and even when, exiled for sin, they repent and pray toward the land. He blesses the assembly and offers vast sacrifices in a joyful feast.
