1 Kings 10

c. 950 BCThe Queen of Sheba visits, marveling at Solomon’s wisdom and wealth and praising his God.

The Queen of Sheba comes to test Solomon with hard questions and is overwhelmed — “the half was not told me” — by his wisdom, his court, and his devotion, and she blesses the LORD who set him on the throne. The chapter piles up images of Solomon’s staggering wealth: gold, ivory, exotic imports, and a fame that surpasses all the kings of the earth.
