1 Corinthians 11

Paul addresses conduct in worship, including instructions about head coverings that reflect God’s created order and the relationship of man and woman. He then sharply rebukes the way the Corinthians observe the Lord’s Supper, where divisions and selfishness — some going hungry while others get drunk — despise the church and the meal. He recounts the Lord’s institution of the Supper, in which the bread and cup proclaim “the Lord’s death until he comes,” and warns that partaking “in an unworthy manner” invites judgment, so each should examine himself.
