Zechariah 8

The tone turns to overflowing promise. God declares, “I have returned to Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem,” which will be called “the faithful city.” He pictures old men and women sitting in its streets and boys and girls playing there in peace and safety. He will save His people, restore them, make them “a blessing,” and turn their mournful fasts into “seasons of joy and gladness and cheerful feasts.” The chapter ends with a vision of many peoples and strong nations coming to seek the LORD in Jerusalem, ten men grasping the robe of a Jew and saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”
