The great psalm of the suffering righteous one, opening with the cry Jesus voiced on the cross, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” It describes mockery, pierced hands and feet, and garments divided by lot, then turns to triumphant praise and the worship of all the nations — the passion and its glorious fruit.
