Psalms 142

David; lamentA cry from the cave: “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”

A lament composed in the cave, when David felt alone and trapped, with no one to care for his soul: “I cry to you, O LORD; I say, ’You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.’” He asks God to bring him out of prison so he can give thanks among the righteous.
