Proverbs 18

The chapter dwells on the power of speech, warning that “death and life are in the power of the tongue,” and that a fool’s mouth is his ruin. It commends careful listening before answering, the security of the name of the LORD as “a strong tower,” and the blessing of “a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
