Luke study chapter

Luke 6

c. AD 28Jesus is lord of the Sabbath, chooses the Twelve, and preaches the Sermon on the Plain with its blessings and woes.

Jesus defends His disciples’ Sabbath conduct and heals a withered hand, declaring Himself lord of the Sabbath. After a night of prayer He chooses the twelve apostles, then delivers the Sermon on the Plain: blessings on the poor and hungry and woes on the rich and full, the command to love enemies and to be merciful as the Father is merciful, warnings against judging, and the closing image of the two builders — the one who does His words builds on rock.
