John study chapter

John 21

c. AD 30The risen Jesus appears by the sea, provides a miraculous catch, and restores Peter, “Feed my sheep.”

In the epilogue, the risen Jesus appears by the Sea of Galilee, where the disciples, having caught nothing, take a great haul of fish at His word, and John recognizes Him: “It is the Lord!” Over breakfast on the shore, Jesus tenderly restores Peter, who had denied Him three times, asking three times, “Do you love me?” and commissioning him, “Feed my sheep,” and foretelling the death by which Peter would glorify God. The Gospel closes noting that the world itself could not contain the books that might be written of all Jesus did.
