God pauses to challenge Job: will the faultfinder contend with the Almighty? Job answers humbly, “Behold, I am of small account... I lay my hand on my mouth,” and falls silent. But God presses further, asking whether Job would annul His justice to justify himself, and begins to describe Behemoth, a massive creature of great strength that only its Maker can approach — another emblem of God’s power over forces beyond human mastery.
