Jeremiah study chapter

Jeremiah 1

c. 627 BCJeremiah is called and appointed a prophet to the nations before birth, with visions of an almond branch and a boiling pot.

The LORD calls Jeremiah, telling him, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you... I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Though Jeremiah protests that he is only a youth, God touches his mouth, puts His words in it, and gives two visions — an almond branch (God is watching over His word to perform it) and a boiling pot tilting from the north (disaster coming from Babylon) — and promises to make him a fortified city against the whole land.
